There are several ways to streamline the setup process of a DecoNetwork affiliate website. One of the best ways to make launching a new website quicker and easier is to build website templates that can be cloned in a matter of seconds, reducing the setup time potentially by hours.

To create an affiliate website template, a new website must be launched and configured. When a website is cloned or made into a template all of the website’s “back-end” settings (store configuration, price settings, decorated products, etc.) and “front-end” design of the site are copied to a new website. So it is important that both the front and back end of the website template are configured before it is cloned. Any updates made to a template will be applied to future websites, but websites that were already launched using the same template will not automatically be updated.

It is important to keep an affiliate website template as white-labeled as possible using generic placeholders. Placeholders for the logo, home page call-to-action, and pre-decorated products are a few places where placeholders make a lot of sense. A placeholder makes it obvious that a variable should/can be easily swapped out with whatever the affiliate wants to use. It is important that a template be “Published” before it is cloned as that is what creates the latest version of the website.

There are many different ways to use an affiliate website and thus there is often a need to create multiple types of templates, even within the same niche. The two most common website types are used for either fundraising or for a large company to place orders (ordering portal). The primary difference between these two types of websites is that an ordering portal requires a login to access the website, which is typically only one or a few pages at most. Fundraising websites can revolve around just 1 page or have dozens of pages depending on how many products and content the affiliate wants to display on the site. That is why creating different fundraising website templates for different niches and/or different amounts of content to display makes a lot of sense to help reduce the amount of time it takes to set up a new website.
